The RSTA Senior Dinner to honor those members of the CRLS Class of 2016 who have completed the three year course of studies in a RSTA program, or who completed the two-year program, was held last night May 11 in the Main Cafeteria at CRLS. Most of the 114 seniors who had completed programs were in attendance, along with family and friends, and RSTA faculty, and were awarded their certificates by the RSTA teachers from their programs. In all, approximately 180 people attended the event and heard congratulatory comments from Superintendent of Schools Dr. Jeff Young, School Committee Vice-Chair Fred Fantini, and RSTA Director Dr. Mike Ananis.
A buffet style meal of parmesan-encrusted breast of chicken, penne, spring vegetables, a green salad, and sumptuous desserts was enjoyed by all. The meal was prepared by and guests were served by members of the Culinary Arts program level 2 juniors.
Chef Joel Legault, Culinary Arts teacher since 1988, was honored during the Dinner as this was the last class he will have the chance to see off. Chef Joel is retiring from teaching in January 2017. In the pictured photos, Chef Joel can be seen preparing the dessert table and conferring a certificate of Proficiency on senior Angelica Owirka, who hand-made most of the desserts.
