RSTA Biotechnology Program Receives Massachusetts Life Sciences Center Grant

Dr. Joan Abrams, fourth from the right in the photo above, was awarded $105,000 to establish a Biomanufacturing lab facility as part of the Biotechnology program she teaches at RSTA. The funds will be used to purchase new equipment for students to acquire the skills needed to enter the world of Biomanufacturing and will be located adjacent to the existing Biotechnology lab and classroom on the first floor of Cambridge Rindge & Latin School, beginning in the 2017-2018 school year.

The awards are part of a statewide grant round that is delivering a total of $39 million in MLSC capital grants to 14 research and educational institutions, and 49 middle and high schools, across Massachusetts. Massachusetts Life Sciences Center capital grants will grow the innovation economy and prepare a trained workforce.
