Out-of-District CTE Programs
Overview
Massachusetts permits all high school students to apply to enroll in a state-approved CTE program outside their district, if the program is not offered by their own district, at no cost to the student. This is known as the non-resident tuition program for Chapter 74 programs.
CPS students seeking admission to a specific program not offered by RSTA at CRLS must:
- By March 15: Follow the admissions process of the school at which they are seeking admission.
- By April 1: Submit a Chapter 74 Vocational Technical Education Program Nonresident Student Tuition Application. Complete this form and share with Linda Radzvilla, RSTA Executive Director, who will share the information with the Superintendent for approval.
- If a student moves to a nonresident district after April 1, the student must submit a new Chapter 74 Vocational Technical Education Program Nonresident Student Tuition Application to their school district as soon as applicable.
Special requirements for 9th graders: Because RSTA offers a ninth grader exploratory program, ninth grade students may only apply for non-resident admission for the purposes of exploring “aviation maintenance technology, or specialized agriculture and natural resources programs” not available in the CPS.
