Students Compete in MA Safe School Poster Design Contest

This past December, 13 students in the Creative Design class recently competed in the Massachusetts Safe School Poster Design contest. All Massachusetts teens aged 14 to 19 were invited to apply their knowledge about workplace safety and health in the 2020 MA Safe Jobs for Youth Poster Contest sponsored by the Massachusetts Youth Employment and Safety Team (YES Team) and the Massachusetts Coalition for Occupational Safety and Health (MassCOSH).

This contest highlights the importance of workplace safety and health for teens. The goal of this poster contest is for students to determine what hat kind of message would reach their peers? In their own words, in any language, their goal was to come up with a phrase or sentence about the importance of safety for young workers. The design specifications included the use of the word “teen” or “youth” in the slogan and “work” or “job” (or other synonyms) in the poster.

The awards for the winning student includes:

• First Place wins $500
• Second Place wins $300
• Third Place wins $100

The winning poster will be seen across the state. Past winners were on public transportation. The finalists will be recognized at an awards ceremony on March 11, 2020.
