Creative Design Students Win 2021 Scholastic Art Awards

Students in RSTA's Creative Design class earned five individual winning keys that include one Senior Portfolio Award. Established in 1923, the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards are the longest-running, most prestigious recognition program for creative teens in the U.S. The School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston (SMFA), in partnership with the Boston Globe is pleased to be among the more than 100 Regional Affiliates for the Awards in the United States. Our region, the nation's largest, serves the entire state of Massachusetts. Open to students from grades 7–12, The Scholastic Art Awards are the nation's longest-running, largest, most prestigious recognition program for creative teenagers in the visual and literary arts. The Awards identify students with exceptional artistic and literary talent. Work is judged on originality, technical skill, and emergence of a personal voice or vision. All work is judged blindly, without knowledge of the student's gender, age or school.

This year four Creative Design students won five Scholastic Art Awards. Senior Greggy Bazile earned two awards. He received a Gold Key for his Art Portfolio and a Silver Key for his Street Mural. Senior Maxwell Berger earned a Silver Key for his Cambridge Blue Bike Wrap. Junior Aliya Alnehmi earned a Gold Key for her Digital Art. Junior Alba Cruz-Pimentel earned Honorable Mention for her Cambridge Blue Bike Wrap.
