Hoop Dreams Be All Right Poster Contest

Students in the Creative Design class recently competed in the Hoop Dreams with Chris Herren Poster Contest sponsored by The Prevention Coalition, Cambridge Public Health Department, and CRLS spearheaded by Greta Hardina and Mary Kowalczuk. The objective of the contest was to create and design a poster that is attractive, age appropriate and promotes an event called Hoop Dreams with Chris Herren. The design goal is to create a colorful and visually appealing poster to attract high and upper school students and families to the event. The event will focus on substance abuse prevention and addiction. Chris is the founder of The Herren Project, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing treatment, education and mentoring programs to those touched by addiction and to educate people of all ages on the dangers of substance abuse. In 2012 The Herren Project launched a national anti-substance abuse campaign, Project Purple, to encourage people of all ages to stand up to substance abuse.

Lauren Patrice, Junior, Fourth Place ($25 cash prize awarded)
