About the Program
The
RSTA Creative Design program is a three-year, Chapter 74 approved
program that prepares students for the Creative Design field through a
series of tasks and competencies in the areas of: Graphic Design,
Digital Photography and Video, Vinyl Graphics, Advertising,
Illustration, Web Design, and Web Animation. In state-of-the-art studio,
RSTA students gain valuable experience in this field, which integrates
design, computer software applications, and digital media. Student
competencies in the Creative Design program are based upon the
Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education
Career/Vocational Technical Education Frameworks for Design & Visual
Communications.

Michele Watson Maxwell, Creative Design Teacher
Ms.
Watson Maxwell has broad experience in the field of Graphic Design, as a
designer, manager, college instructor, and small business owner. She
began teaching Creative Design at RSTA in September 2002. Ms. Watson
Maxwell holds a B.A. in Graphic Design and a M.A. in Communications and
Liberal Arts from Clark University as well as a M.Ed. in Occupational
Education from Fitchburg State University.
