Students in the Creative Design class recently competed in a Live Work Contest sponsored by
The Cambridge Election Commission to design a "I Voted" sticker. These stickers will be reproduced and given to voters in celebration of their civic contribution. These stickers are an important symbol for Cambridge voters and indicate to others that they’ve participated in their civic duty. The scope of this contest was to redesign the current sticker to better reflect the culture, languages and people of Cambridge. The goal for these new stickers is to help to increase voter engagement, turnout, excitement and pride, especially in neighborhoods of color and multilingual households. The design guidelines were to consider design elements representative of voting. Also, to include the words “I Voted” in English, Spanish, Chinese, Haitian Creole, Bengla and Amharic, Arabic. These languages were chosen based on this Cambridge demographics data.
