Massachusetts Girls in Trades Eastern Conference

Building a Network of Women in the Skilled Union Trades

Location: IBEW Local 103, Dorchester
Junior year female students and undecided/uncommitted senior year females, as well as their teachers and guidance counselors, are invited to attend a conference for women seeking career opportunities in union construction trades (Construction, Automotive, Horticulture, Engineering, etc.). The conference will provide an overview of opportunities, educational workshops, and support for young women to continue a career pathway in skilled trades. Participants will engage with apprenticeship training programs, meet tradeswomen working in the field, and learn how high school women in trades programs can leverage the uptick in building projects. The Career Fair portion will include opportunities for networking with trade unions as well as community and student organizations, which will further assist participants seeking a career pathway in skilled trades.
Lunch will be provided.

Location: Media Arts Studio
The International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees, Moving Picture Technicians, Artists, and Allied Crafts (IATSE) is the union that represents over 140,000 technicians and craftspeople working behind the scenes in the entertainment industry in the US and Canada.
